Industrial-networking solution boots in seconds and configures in minutes, bringing market-leading scale and functionality to customers requiring high levels of security, data consistency and usability

HOPKINS, Minn., Dec. 8, 2021 — Digi International, (NASDAQ: DGII, www.digi.com), a leading global provider of Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity products and services, today announced the launch of Connect EZ®, a next-generation family of device servers providing connectivity for business, commercial, and industrial automation applications.

With the discovery and configuration tool Digi Navigator™ and Digi Accelerated Linux (DAL) operating system integration, Connect EZ leapfrogs outdated serial-interface designs to provide an easy-to-deploy, reliable and innovative solution that ensures longevity and manageability for connectivity applications in manufacturing, retail, medical, and telecom.

“Companies are not replacing their equipment; they’re updating the way they talk to it,” says Brian Kirkendall, General Manager and Vice President of Infrastructure Management at Digi. “Connect EZ modernizes serial connectivity with LTE and Wi-Fi options, enhanced manageability, security, intelligence and performance, while offering seamless connectivity for existing applications.”

From physical port support to network speeds and processing power, Digi’s Connect EZ extends the capabilities of Digi’s PortServer® and Digi One® products. Designed for organizations with serial-to-network equipment for machine-to-machine applications, as well as companies that need to connect additional devices through Wi-Fi, cellular or Ethernet, Connect EZ enables serial machines to communicate efficiently over a wide range of network types and tune data framing and packetization, while allowing devices and applications to work over networks without requiring any modification. Connect EZ offers the following software-enabled benefits:

  • Intelligence – from Digi’s DAL operating system
  • Management and Scalability – from Digi Remote Manager® and Digi Navigator
  • Transparency – from Digi’s patented RealPort®
  • Security – from Digi’s built-in TrustFence®
  • Connectivity – from cellular connectivity and Wi-Fi options

In addition to the release of the Connect EZ serial server, Digi’s AnywhereUSB Plus now offers Wi-Fi capabilities on its 8 port and 24 port models. This new capability provides customers the ability to connect to their USB devices over a wireless LAN, either by connecting the AnywhereUSB to an existing WLAN network or by creating a small WLAN with the AnywhereUSB itself.
