The Goldfish team is bringing the heat this summer

AUGUST 5, 2021

“Hot and spicy” has been the #1 requested Goldfish flavor. Using this insight, the team set out to give the people what they want—a big and bold flavor that takes adult snacking to the next level.

For a limited time, Goldfish has teamed up with Frank’s RedHot, America’s #1 hot sauce brand, to create the newest, one-of-a-kind Goldfish flavor.

Some (or a lot!) like it hot

“Adults are big Goldfish fans, and they’ve taken to social to tell us they wanted a hot and spicy variety. We heard them loud and clear and knew we had to turn it up a notch. So, we partnered with a brand that knows a few things about heat. This special collaboration between Goldfish and Frank’s RedHot brought the heat to our crackers!”

– Janda Lukin, Chief Marketing Officer, Campbell Snacks

With hot sauce being the fastest growing condiment in America, the Goldfish team knew Frank’s RedHot was the perfect brand and way to bring our smiling crackers to the hot side.

Tasting hot, hot, hot

Goldfish Frank’s RedHot crackers are made with the classic hot sauce ingredients you know and love, including notes of vinegar for acidity and a blend of aged cayenne peppers for the perfect balance of flavor and heat.

“At Frank’s RedHot we say, ‘I put that s#!t on everything!’ so we’ve embraced heating up familiar flavors, like Goldfish, with our 100-year old hot sauce. It’s the perfect amount of heat and tang that keep consumers wanting more.”

– Jill Pratt, Chief Marketing Excellence Officer, McCormick, parent company of Frank’s RedHot

Heating up the shelves

In April, our bakeries got to work making Goldfish Frank’s RedHot crackers—but hot and spicy was new to the Pepperidge Farm team. The flavor was so hot, it took some time to get the taste just right. The team at our Richmond, Utah bakery made a few tweaks to their equipment—and the end result… was sizzling!

The reviews are FIRE

Late-night talk show host, Jimmy Fallon, covered the new Goldfish Frank’s RedHot crackers, saying, “we have vaccines in our arms, stimulus checks in our pockets, and hot sauce in our Goldfish.”

Check out what other people are saying on social media about the limited-edition flavor:
